The Duel of Wine The Duel of Wine

Coming soon to film festivals around the world: The Duel of Wine

All wine lovers who crave a good “eno-film” will be happy to know that a new movie featuring their favorite drink is on its way to the theaters. The Duel of Wine is a comedy featuring sommeliers, winemakers, and chefs from Italy, Rioja Alavesa, Basque Country, Champagne, Bordeaux, Mendoza and Canelones, Uruguay.

The Duel of Wine is the sequel to 2010 film The Ways of Wine (El Camino del Vino), starring sommelier, wine communicator, and actor Charlie Arturaolo. The first film was screened around the world and won several awards, including the Fipresci prize 2010 in Argentina at the Mar de Plata film festival.

A thrilling comedy, the film portrays a love story and wine adventure that follows a “Ghost Taster” through European cities and the U.S. Through a series of wine tasting competitions and key food and wine pairing moments, the ghost taster – once a wine expert – tries to prove his palate to his former industry and his loving wife.

Director Nicolas Carreras introduces many important and international chefs, including such luminaries as Jean F. Rouquette from Park Hyatt Vendome in Paris, Gianfranco Vissani from Rai Italy, Cesare Casella from Salumeria Rossi in New York City, Donato Di Santis from Cucina Paradiso in Buenos Aires, and Karlos Arguiñano from Euskadi, Spain.
