Piemonte is experiencing a newfound interest among couples who want to celebrate their wedding in the green vineyards blanketing these hills.
Italians and foreigners alike are rediscovering the land of the Savoys and finding it to be the ideal setting for ceremonies and receptions, whether the wedding is intimate, exclusive, luxurious, serious, romantic, or a little bit rural. Indeed, few places in all the regions of Italy offer such an exceptional mix of good climate, beautiful landscape, a vast selection of structures, and top-level cuisine and wine.
The importance of serving wine at a wedding is undisputed, as a prominent predecessor has already demonstrated (think of water into wine…). But if this theme could be improved upon by, say, pairing the wine with unparalleled cuisine, beautiful landscapes, top quality hotels, and perhaps a photo shoot in the vineyards, then we are certain that the resulting wedding would be in Piemonte. For our guide to the best Piemontese wedding locations, we evaluated structures in each of the ten wine zones and selected one for each zone based on class, elegance, authenticity, strong territorial roots, and if possible, hotel owners who are also wine producers with their own label. In our list, you’ll find the best of Piemonte – although this does not mean that other excellent locations do not exist . Help us to discover more prestigious locations that are ideal for a wedding setting, and we will insert them in our selection!
Barolo - Boscareto
As the only five star luxury hotel in the Langhe, Boscareto is undoubtedly one of the zone’s top resorts. With excellent attention to detail and almost opulent design, the Boscareto offers a breathtaking view from its natural balcony surrounded by 32 hectares of vineyards. The resort offers all the comforts one expects: a covered pool, a fitness area, a Finnish sauna, aromatic Turkish baths, and relaxing spa showers. The apple of Boscareto’s eye, however, is its two Michelin starred restaurant La Reia, headed by chef Antonio Cannavacciulo, and its excellent wine selection. A guest may certainly count on seeing the greatest Barolo wines of the area on the list, including those from the winery Beni di Batasiolo, owner of the resort. For weddings, the Boscareto offers 38 rooms and suites, a modern banquet hall, and spacious indoor room and outdoor options for buffets and cocktail parties. For couples who want true luxury and an unbeatable view, there is no better choice for the price it offers.
Wine Plus: Luxury hospitality in the center of the vineyard-blanketed countryside, unequaled beauty, and excellent cuisine and wines.

Barbaresco - La Locanda di San Giorgio
Beautiful, elegant, and rural: La Locanda di San Giorgo knows how to offer refined hospitality with Piemontese charm. This hotel is located at the top of a hill, encircled by the vineyards of celebrated Barbaresco in a position of absolute tranquility and panoramic beauty. The hospitality is spot-on, the traditional cuisine certainly above average, and the vineyard view is marvelous. With the pool, its Jacuzzi, and the charming rooms full of the light that seems to permeate the place, La Locanda di San Giorgio is an enchanting location perfectly adapted for weddings and other intimate events. The wine cellar is a jewel to visit with over 500 labels, and can host tastings and romantic dinners upon request. Finally, the owners of La Locanda own rows of vineyards, gardens, and orchards: the fruit, vegetables, and wine from here are as local as possible!
Wine Plus: True Piemontese charm in a countryside setting for an intimate event; an authentic touch are the gardens, vineyards, and orchards that provide the Locanda di San Giorgio with the freshest produce.

Asti & Moscato - Relais San Maurizio
A luxury relais, a beauty spa, a prestigious Barolo and Barbaresco winery, an ancient country chateau: Relais San Maurizio is all this and so much more. Enter the gates and let yourself be surrounded by the beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Constructed upon a Cistercian monastery of the 17th century, the Relais San Maurizio is a point of reference for the whole zone of Moscato. It is part of the Relais&Chateaux Association, a worldwide-recognized mark of quality. Here, every room is a suite with a unique atmosphere, and the place’s surroundings are, to say the least, extraordinary. The Relais is positioned in the heart of the hills of Moscato, which are some of the most admired landscapes in the Langhe. If you’re looking for a wedding that is more than a little exclusive and with a touch a Romanticism, this is the place for you. Even the restaurant of Relais San Maurizio is spectacular. Underground tunnels pocketed with nooks and crannies are decorated with contemporary works of art, turning the place into a treasure trove holding over 2,500 different wine labels. The cuisine is from Michelin starred Guido da Costigliole, an icon of Piemontese fare, and managed today by Andrea, son of Ugo and Lidia Alciati.
Wine Plus: For an exclusive wedding with a touch of Romanticism, Relais San Maurizio offers this and more: Michelin starred cuisine, breathtaking views, and an extensive wine list.

Roero - Villa Tiboldi
Does a more romantic place exist in the Roero zone of Piemonte? Imagine a regal villa, majestic and suspended among the vineyards; take a winding country road to reach the rural parish church PIEVE just at the entrance; after reaching the villa, admire the 360 degree view of the emerald hills of the Roero: this is Villa Tiboldi. Originally built in the 1700s, Villa Tiboldi was rennovated in the 20th century by a Genovese family who desired it for a vacation home. Its façade echoes that of noble a Ligurian residence, but the soul of the structure is pure Langhe and Roero. In fact, this contrast renders it a rather undefinable place, both elegant and strong, grandiose (but not excessively so), with a compelling style mix of Art Nouveau and country. Villa Tiboldi has ten rooms among its suites, junior suites, and matrimonial rooms; outdoor seating next to the hills of vineyards; a pool with a panorama; and a top quality restaurant featuring traditional cuisine. The owners of the Villa, Massimo and Roberto Damonte, are well-known wine producers in the Roero (Malvirà winery), famous for their Arneis DOCG, the white wine “prince” of the area.
Wine Plus: An oasis of peace to taste the products of the Roero paired with the excellent Arneis by the Malvirà winery.

Acquese & Ovadese - Villa Ottolenghi
Villa Ottolenghi could have been taken straight from a film set by Paolo Sorrentino, perhaps from the Oscar-winning La Grande Bellezza. Completely immersed in green, it overlooks the vineyards of the Acquese wine territory, its grand park spreading out to create a fascinating contrast between the avant-garde style of the building and its completely rural setting. This villa originates from the early 1900s and was, at the time, an incredible architectural and artistic experiment. Initiated by the Ottolenghi family in 1920, the building was constructed with the close collaboration of patrons, architects, painters, and sculptors, who gave life to this creation that is characterized by important works of art. Artwork is indeed the focal point for Villa Ottolenghi, which, after a recent, attentive restoration, presents itself as a space where functionality and beauty go hand in hand.
Tying the knot in this villa means enjoying a complete experience. The countryside and vast green spaces provide a lush backdrop, the team of professionals is at your complete disposal to follow every stage of the wedding, and the immersion into the history of art and the local gastronomy lend an authentic touch to the special occasion. As an added bonus, Villa Ottolenghi owns vineyards and produces its own wines, each label tied strongly to the territory, including Barbera d’Asti DOCG and red and white Monferrato DOC.
Wine Plus: A professional team that will look after the organization of the wedding; and a winery with a lovely minimalistic atmosphere and wines made from property vineyards.

Gavi & Tortonese - L’Ostelliere – Villa Sparina
The green valleys surrounding Gavi are often underrated. And yet, the natural beauty of these places has nothing to envy of their more celebrated counterparts in the Langhe and in Tuscany. On the contrary, the maritime character that comes from its particular position between Liguria and Piemonte gives Gavi a unique Mediterranean flavor, a breath of mountain air and sea breeze that mingle in the large, sunlit spaces and sudden rocky outcrops. The Ostelliere di Villa Sparina, a four star hotel located on the hill of Monterotondo di Gavi, is in a land of chiaroscuro. The surrounding vineyards and forest alternate to complete a fascinating landscape picture, one where austere and simple architecture mix perfectly with the comfort of the hotel’s hospitality. The Ostellerie was once an ancient farmhouse from the 17th century, and today it is circled by over 100 hectares of vineyards belonging to the Moccagatta family. 70 hectares are cultivated exclusively with native grape varieties and are dedicated to the production of Barbera and Gavi DOCG—which, in this area, reaches its pinnacle of excellence. It is the perfect place for large receptions with its fascinating, old, underground wine cellar. There is a touch of romanticized country style in the walls covered in climbing ivy and in the fragrant rosemary bushes planted in every angle.
Wine Plus: Large indoor and outdoor spaces, unmatched sunset views, a landscape of hilly vineyards and forests, and excellent wines complete the Ostelliere di Villa Sparina.

Monferrato - Relais Sant’Uffizio
If people still took horse-driven carriages and carried lanterns at night, Relais Sant’Uffizio would fit right in. This historical building in the heart of Monferrato evokes a 17th century atmosphere with anachronistic ease: the beautiful, red bricks recall the French nobility and their countryside abodes with its large adjoining wing, well-tended vineyards, Italian gardens with a hedge maze, and the tree-studded drive. The building was initially constructed by Dominican monks who cultivated silkworms and produced wine for Mass.
For receptions, the Relais Sant’Uffizio has available its luminous Limonaia room with spectacular glass walls open to the sunlight; or, the grand salon Glicine, which holds up to 230 people. And, if you want to get married in this place set back in time, the nearby Church of San Vittore di Cioccare from the Ancient Roman period is the perfect setting. Upon request, the Relais also provides the couple with a Piemontese wedding planner, the top choice if you would like all the particulars of your wedding well taken care of.
Wine Plus: The entire wedding ceremony and reception may be held on the premises and immediately nearby, with no transporting issues to deal with.

Langhe - Castel Martino Cortemilia
If you’re looking for a rural wedding setting, this is the place for you. There is no other hotel that retains its country heritage as well as in the valleys of Cortemilia, with its tradition of hard work, isolation, and a thousand-year relationship between man and uncontaminated nature. Castel Martino is one of the best agriturismi in lower Piemonte. It is a majestic structure built in Langhe stone (lovely in its naked simplicity) and surrounded by lush, untouched nature where, among pine trees and woods, the typical Alta Langa natural terraces rise up. The agriturismo has 12 rooms, a wonderful botanic garden – whose owner give it exemplary care – and a private chapel where the wedding ceremony may be held. The place is isolated and not that simple to reach, but the satisfaction in “conquering” this countryside jewel is worth every effort.
Wine Plus: One of the most suggestive landscapes of Alta Langa, where outings and itineraries through the area will surprise and delight your guests.

Alto Piemonte - Castello di Roppolo
Sitting on the border between the wine zones Torinese and Alto Piemonte, the Castle of Roppolo joins three fundamental things to make a complete wedding: a welcoming and beautiful building that was once a Savoy residence, with a view overlooking Lake Viverone and a spacious panoramic garden; the 17th century “Chiesetta,” or church, finely restored and perfect for holding the wedding ceremony; and finally, the wine shop Enoteca della Serra with its 16th century cellars located in the castle itself. Moreover, even the most demanding fine wine lover will be satisfied with the selection in the cantina, which offers the best wines from Alto Piemonte and the Valley d’Aosta with over 100 labels, spumante and grappa. The Castle also owns vineyard property and produces Torrecupa, a red Canavese Nebbiolo DOC, and Bichieri, a rosé Canavese DOC. Both wines are available for tasting in the Enoteca.
The outdoors area is perfect for a wedding reception, both romantic and intimate. It connects to frescoed rooms, painting an overall elegant picture. Just don’t let your attention get swept away by the beauty of it all or you may risk the jealousy of your newly-wed partner…
Wine Plus: beautiful and practical for a complete wedding with local wines and wonderful mountain and lake view.

Torinese - Castello di Pavone
This is the setting for a wedding if the bride truly wants to feel like a princess. The Castle of Pavone is one of the most spectacular manors in all of Italy. Declared a national monument, its foundations the 9th to 11th centuries. After passing through its magnificent walls through the Noble Courtyard and its quaint Well of Mysteries, the inner rooms open up to marvelous frescoes and the outside world is left behind. Every detail seems to have been studied for full Late Medieval effect: massive rectangular towers, crenellated walls and walkways, the great tower, and the inside chapel. Here, weddings are solemn and elegant with a touch of history and fairy tale; the space can accommodate up to 250 guests. Although the castle does not possess a private winery, it is located within the heart of a territory that is well known for its wine production, including Ivrea with its Canavese and Carema wines in the north and Caluso in the south, celebrated for its Erbaluce DOCG.
Wine Plus: If you’re looking for a wedding inside a real castle, you've found it.
